Coast Trip Day 5: Medford to Home

We went to the beautiful Medford Temple today.  It was a very neat experience for us where prayers were answered and a lot of stress was relieved by the time we got home from this temple visit.  It is a longer story that I will post a bit later.  After the temple we ate at Jaspers Café and oh my goodness talk about a delicious burger!  I got the teri-pine burger and JD ordered Kangaroo.  They were both really good and their customer service was amazing.  We will definitely have to go back if I can make it back down here in a month.  We drove home after lunch and while it did feel good to be home we are still busy getting ready for JD's family to be here tomorrow, we are excited to see them but I have a feeling JD is going to be worn out by the time these two weeks are over.

Take that Chinese Food

Guess what I made, all by myself, and it turned out delicious?  That's right, ham fried rice people.  For  whatever reason, cooking any form of Chinese food is scary to me.  I won tonight though: Natalie 1: Chinese Food 0.  I made a ton of it so it was dinner and lunch for both of us.

On the Menu

I am not a fan of cooking....at all.  I never have been.  My sister, Emily, is a master chef.  She was the one willing to help with the entire meal when we were growing up.  I would peel potatos and book it out of the kitchen.  I don't like timing things, making a mess, cleaning it up, shopping for the ingredients, going to cook something and missing a single ingredient, etc.  It is just a hassle I don't enjoy.  Since moving up here, I have been cooking a lot more.  I have enjoyed finding new recipes and only one was absolutely terrible (I blame false imagery on the part of CrockPot because I rechecked and I followed everything exactly correct) but that hasn't taken away from the whole process that I loathe.  One thing I have done to help that has worked well for the first 2 months at least is preplanning my shopping list for an entire month making me grocery store free for 29 days of the month which I love.  One the menu this month: frito pie, swedish pork roast, parmesean chicken, southwestern chicken chili, tacos, chicken curry, and honey spiced glazed chicken to name a few.
